So… in my last post on fb I mentioned having 10 songs ready for mastering. I did that and the outcome was less than desired.. rather frustrating to say the least. While going through some corrective scenarios in my head, using all of my limited experience to overcome the “sounds of mud”, which was the result of my most recent mastering event, I figured I would have to strip down my process to a point and start over. Frustrating but, necessary. In the middle of my frustration I reached out for help to get pointers for direction and boy did I get a welcomed response.
A few years ago while in Austin, Texas I did some recording at Perfect Pitch Studio with Paul Ramsey. It was more than just a recording session.. it was a melding of minds and a big learning experience for me. There’s not many humans on this planet of the composition of Paul. Let’s just say that this was beyond a recording session that benefited everyone involved. Well… as fate would have it, here we are again. Sitting on a stack of jewels working on a way to hone them down so everyone can share in the same experience. If you have all the right tools for this work… more will appreciate the outcome than not. We’re back in the shop working on pieces that have elevated five or six notches from our last meeting and I for one am excited beyond containment.
As most delicate works, it will take a minute. The results will be more than worth the wait. Paul is very gifted at developing and implementing processes. The project will be worked until it is well balanced and right where it’s supposed to be for a full bodied experience. I can’t express how excited I am to be working with Paul again and, I’m confident that this combination has all the ingredients for an excellent outcome.
So.. I will fill you in along the way.. Thank you for making the time to drop by and take good care.
