Almost There

Okay.. I’m very close in the process to what’s called “bouncing down tracks”. Essentially it’s the finished product, multiple tracks consolidated down to 2-tracks in stereo. And then we go to polish them down with a master. I’m sure I’ll be in master mode this weekend… either Friday night or Saturday afternoon.

Here’s another little nodule connected with the album. A good friend of mine and keen wordsmith, Dave Tongay jotted down what came to him while listening to the number 2 track and single release “what have we done now?” Now.. there’s only one way this will work effectively. You have to go to the site (BandCamp) on my page (humanmusique productions) and check the releases for Likuid Eklektik. There you will find the single release.. listen to it while reading the metal images Dave wrote down. After that, share your thoughts.. or just subscribe, hit the “like” and most definitely share this experience with your friends and encourage them to do the same.

I will get back to you with word on the progress of the album.. In the meantime.. check out brother Dave’s mental images below.. Enjoy!!

Musical theme based on the music of Tom Tarpley, “What Have We Done Now”

The Porsche Boxter’s third gear was slipped into place as the freeway entrance sign and the lights of Las Vegas faded into the evening’s indifference. With a well-practiced hand, Jonah’s instinct listened for the appropriate time to engage fourth and then fifth. The road lay ahead, dark, foreboding, as the headlights searched for anything that might slow them down. He had a choice to make, to drive straight ahead to the lights of LA or take a detour through Pahrump to avoid being followed. They would eventually hit Shoshone and then further to the south, Baker, where he could once again pick up I15. The obvious choice would be straight ahead to Baker. Pahrump was the better choice and eased the convertible into fifth and then sixth as the speedometer easily reached 100 mph and the engine purred. Domino, if that was her real name, lay back into the creamy leather seat with a sated smile on her face. “Riding in a car like this is like great sex. You never want it to stop.” Jonah looked at her with a small degree of disdain remembering how close they came to being discovered knocking over a cash cart at the Bellagio. Tony Villante, the casino’s general manager would never let the theft stand and he was certain his button man, Razor Willie, was put on the case.

He knew from the start she would be a liability. It was obvious to him when they were first introduced, she could be the weak link that could get them both killed if this caper didn’t run to plan. His handler said she was solid and “talented in many ways you can only imagine.” He assumed he was speaking of her work under the sheets since she was a tight package of raven black hair, red lipstick and full cleavage in a form-fitting dress. The temptation to flee with her and the money was coming to life and thoughts of a weeklong triste in Baja was enticing. But for now, he had to outrun Razor.

The front boot was loaded with stacks of cash banded in ribbons touting sums of $10,000 and up. He thought it might just be upwards of a $4 million haul. Getting it all to the cleaners would take some time. This was casino money and would set off alarms on the first dollar spent. Pahrump lay ahead and Jonah made another decision. He looked at her again noticing she had dozed off. Apparently, the night’s excitement had caught up with her. Her night was not over, yet. He pulled into the first gas station he could, gently shook her, and suggested she go the bathroom. It was going to be a long drive and he wasn’t going to stop again until they hit Baker. Domino must have been thinking about the heist, “What have we done now?” She smiled patting the front hood. “I’ll only be a few seconds, lover.” She turned and walked to the door of the women’s room. Jonah watched her and smiled. The tank had been topped off in Vegas before the caper. He pulled out the nozzle and returned it to the pump. Without a second thought, he opened the door and sat. He started the Porsche and drove quietly onto the highway that led to Shoshone.

What have we done now, indeed?
