I’m going to move in this direction. My choice id not to move at a pace or in a direction dictated by anyone else but me. I have plenty of music to get out there… music I have not touched for a while. On my Bandcamp page I’m going to start my own music library. It will operate under the same name as the record label and music publishing group… “humanmusique productions”. And some of what I offer now will include a music library that I can invite Music Supervisors and Sync types to. I’ve taken a look at quite a few music library’s and with any of them I will be one of the many waiting to be found amongst a sea of talented song writers and performers. With humanmusique productions?? Tis I.. for now, just me. But, I do have one project formulating that involves someone else that will eventually, once completed, will be added to the library. All of the particulars will be put out there along the way.

I mentioned a while back about VIP memberships for the BandCamp page.. that is still in the works. Through memberships one will have access to ongoing projects and previews to up coming releases.. and more, once I figure out what that more is. I’m going to pull that together in the not so distant future. Behind this idea to make the music visible, available and so on is the fact that, in no time in the near future will I be performing any of my work live. And with both the music industry in a sort of helter-skelter mode, I’m not willing to commit to someone else’s idea of what I should be doing and when.. this approach enables my free will for content and expression from beginning to end. When Music Supervisors and Synch Types visit my music library, they won’t have a problem finding me.. It allows full distinction and quite possibly some leverage right off the bat as to how I do what I do and when. That’s the theory at least. I love to perform live and I do miss it to a degree but, this is the direction I’ve been headed since the beginning… and now?? Well… One foot in front of the other.

What you can look forward to in the near future is the re-release of the first two Likuid Eklektik albums.. Never2Late and No Limits:2020 to be released in full electronic album format on BandCamp (https://ttarpleymusic.bandcamp.com). I will announce the date a few weeks prior to. As I mentioned earlier, for those who purchased an album will get a copy or the re-release free. Somewhere down the line there will be singles in released in a few different formats for each one. I won’t mention what those formats are until they are ready to be released… there will be three different formats for each single though. You’ve hung in there this long, stay tuned a bit longer because this is assured to get better as it goes. My genuine thanks for the support or.. just curious interest. Hello everyone.. tis I once again. The one with music. Soooo… What’s the word, you might ask. Let me tell you then. I have an extended agreement with a distribution company. However, nothing can be done with reference to me moving forward with the agreement right away. So many changes within the music industry. This is something I knew in loose terms but, being faced with an actual working relationship, I see some of the many changes in detail in the areas of distribution and promotion in particular.

Why am I not moving forward at the moment? Song protection and videos… in both cases, the lack of. My songs are currently protected by copyrights as what’s called a “collection”. Meaning.. that as long as my songs are in an album/cd package they are protected. Once I remove any one of the songs from the “collection”, I have to get a copy right for each one separately. The model for releasing music currently is in the form of singles.. one song at a time, which is the approach the distribution company takes. I get it.. follow suit in a trend that has a proven track record. The next thing is.. most internet content that’s absorbed online is in the form of audio/video.. meaning, I need to have some sort of video attached to my music to give me a better chance of gaining more friends. I get that too.. no argument with either of those approaches. And the thing that gets me is the distribution people genuinely like my work… everything they listened to they liked. I still haven’t fully absorbed that. I’ve not had anyone outside of family and friends comment in such a positive manner about my work. I’m very happy to be on the receiving end of the comments, it’s just new to me.

What does all this mean now? Well for starters, I cannot afford to do any of the things I need to do to make the songs distribution ready. We’re moving next year to western Washington and there’s no dollars to spare right now. I’m looking for a way to generate some extra income so I can get four or five songs out there but… we’ll see. As it stands right now I’m using my new found knowledge and shinning up all the songs with new and exciting mixes and getting them mastered as well. I have shifted some of my expenses so I can do my own mastering and when the time comes, use the distributor’s content service for regular advertising. They have proven strategy’s that will introduce me to real friends and not paid “like button” programs.

My feelings here? I’m on the way.. I’ve gone beyond the door steps and have had the conversations with a positive outcome. The next thing will be humanmusique productions in full swing with Likuid Ekleltik, Papa T and TTom chanting out loud. And off we go… A few of you out there know me as a professional musician. After about 20 years of that I put on the full time parent hat. At that time I was also contemplating wether or not to try my hand at song writing and production work. Wresting with the idea of writing, recording and publishing my own work (to start off with) to me, held some frightening prospects. Having a mindset of confidence that I could add to the musical conversations out there, tell stories both lyrically and musically that would emote as well as touch.. Aww man. I had to be ready for all that came with that. I’m still not but, I’ll adjust as I go along. Something guided me along the crooked route and brought me here. And now? Above is the music publishing and recording label logo… SOUL FOOD in deed… and “the church”.. where magic really does happen. Music has been with me as long as I can remember and so… now the work begins.

humanmusique songs will now become destination points in the vast sea of the internet via Music Specialist Distribution (an affiliate of Virgin Music Group and Universal Music Group). The work has just begun. I will be able to provide more information for sites with humanmusique music and sites with video and music as they materialize. All of this has to come together now and be will put together for display and I will share information as it goes. As well, there will be some online promotions.. As I mentioned earlier, I will be getting details out as I get them through this blog, fb, instagram as well as some other platforms that I’ll announce later.

So… it’s on!!! humanmusique music is on the move and you will be hearing from likuid eklektik, Papa T and a few things from TTom. There’s some schemes being developed for a YouTube channel in the not too distant future. It will all take a little time but, I did not come to this point to fall off the map.

“humanmusique”… a Friday Progress Report:February 2, 2024

AAANND we’re back. First, the photo. This shot is located at a rest stop about 70 miles east of Seattle on I90. It is the northern Cascade Mountains. Just about any place in or around the northern Cascades is picturesque. I believe the time frame for this shot is April 2023.

Now.. the album. The album, NO LIMITS:2020-Likuid Eklektik is complete with the exception of one minor adjustment. And I do mean minor. The space in between songs can be as long or as short as you choose. Usually there’s only two or three seconds as a general rule. The space I need to adjust is currently about eight or nine seconds after the fourth song going into the fifth song. It’s long enough to make you think the album is finished. So.. like I said, it’s minor and will be taken care of as soon as I finish this message.

So.. you say.. “That means that the album is finished and ready for release then”. That is correct. It was in one of my earlier notes that I mentioned that I would not release new material on the streaming networks but.. I’ve had second thoughts on that. Maybe some of you have seen a statement floating around the ether-world by the one and only Snoop Dog when he mentioned he only made $40-something thousand dollars on spotify for hundreds of thousands of spins. Well that tells you right there that for an artist like me… there’s definitely no money in the streaming networks. There are a lot of subscribers for the networks and some of them such as pandora and youtube, to name a couple, are free.. along with commercials. For me there’s more people to share the music with and a larger internet presence.. Not to mention that the subscription I have to master my music.. distribution on all the major streaming networks is included. So.. there’s that.

Now you’re probably asking, when will this new Likuid Eklektik album be released?  That’s a very good question too.. it will be released on this page (https://likuideklektik.bandcamp.com/track/what-have-we-done-now-2) on February 14, 2024.. and shortly after that on spotify, apple music, pandora, tidal, deezer as well as a few others that I can’t recall right now. I will get the word out for the streaming network release as soon as I have it. Somewhere in the neighborhood of February 14 is the target time though. All the music is scanned by the company for plagiarism prior to release and sometimes that takes more time than you expect. Keep in mind, it’s not just me getting music mastered and released. Now for those interested in making good use of their spotify streaming subscription, here’s where you can find Likuid Eklektik’s first album on spotify… (https://open.spotify.com/album/3iblRkC6LgyCYn391oQJ2E). This Remix of Never2Late will be Remixed in the not too distant future also.. I’ll let you know about this as well.

GREETING: Hello everyone and Happy New Year.. 2024 and all that it may have to offer. Resolution.. Don’t let corporate crooks fool you. Beware of the fear tactics. There’s one race and one race only… if you are “Human”, you already know this. And off we go.

The photo.. I’m taking you to the beginning, back when music caught up with me. Prior to this photo being taken I had been a college student for a year and at this time, in the Air Force for just over a year.. That makes me a bit over 21 years old here outside my house in Sülm, slightly south and west near the Luxembourg boarder, Germany. I had just started playing drums again after crushing my brain with schooling and training. During the time of this picture I was a bit over a year in a four year contract with the United States Air Force. It was at this time, in the near the middle of my contract that I discovered what was missing in my life. The decision was already made that once I completed my assignment I was going back to school to study music. Certainly not a big thrill for my parents and some of my friends had a puzzled look as if to say.. and then what? Any way, so it went and here I am deep into this journey of learning and constantly refining my skills in the language of music.. by the way I have quite a few miles into this journey so.. tis the way it should be for me and the way it will always be for me.

09. sahara frolic.. playing with modes or scales is one of the components that gives a song a particular face and character. In this song, the Egyptian scale (The Egyptian scale is a 5-note scale, a type of pentatonic [Penta = 5] scale that’s also known as the suspended pentatonic scale) is really only present during the guitar solo. The individual parts during the refrain are relatively simple. This represents the Sahara Desert when it is seemingly tame, sand grains in waves. But then during the time of winds and sand storms, the desert appears to be coming apart.. It can’t though, it’s still bound by the seemingly simple fact that it’s the desert and the desert is just turning over. The guitar solo represents the Oasis that can be found within the expanse of the Sahara.                                  10. tree tops.. This came to me while on tour.. one of many.. Just gazing out of the bus window at the landscape of the trees, the ground, the clouds in the sky and all of sudden it seemed that the tree tops had melody. That melody was tied to solid ground and the tree tops seemed to dance underneath the clouds.. and although the melody and rhythm that it rides on in the song does not correlate or translate exactly to the scape as I saw it, it does give me the feel of that joint venture of a solid base and dancing melody such as the tree tops.

IN CLOSING: Okay.. that’s all of the songs and the inspiration, for the most part, behind them. I’m working on putting a brief sample of a couple of songs from the album for the next issue. I’m pretty sure that will happen.

A short mention concerning what’s called “third party plug-ins” for recording programs like the one I have.. As I mentioned in an earlier episode, these programs are very powerful on their own and don’t really need any outside help. But as technology would have it, their are add-ons galore that even in my limited experience, work wonders. The issue I had was a build up in the low-mid frequency that I managed to clear up, for the most part anyway, by going through all the songs and adjusting my EQ/equalization on all of the instruments and on my main output as well. Still it needed some more clarity and I found an AI assisted third party plug-in that is working very well. I’m on the final stretch of changes with song number 7 and I should be able to completely go through all the songs by this weekend.. if I keep up at the rate I’m going. We shall know soon.
