Hello everyone.. I mentioned on my fb page (https://www.facebook.com/thomas.tarpley.3/) that I was going to set up a private listening party at: https://likuideklektik.bandcamp.com/album/never2late-remastered A selection of pre-mastered songs from Likuid Eklektik’s NO LIMITS:2020 will be available for human consumption by way of a private listening party on September 20, 2024 and will only last until October 4, 2024.
Quite simple.. you sign up as a fan with your email address, I send you and invitation and you get to listen to some great new music. What you’ll hear is songs still in the process of being mixed and being prepared for mastering. This will only last for two weeks and all of the songs on the album will not be posted.. not sure how many will, but.. only one way for you to find out.
Now go and tell the world and you guys get your selves in gear, sign up, encourage your friends and family to do the same. Take good care all. Until next time. And remember.. Support your favorite artists.. buy their goods.
And once again.. here we are.. on a Friday getting ready to create the product of thoughts, emotions, dreams all molded in a musical story. Stories that share, emote, provoke and tickle the emotions.. something to move you closer to a soothing spot.. let your hair soon, relax your shoulders and…. breathe.. Which is something I seem to forget to do quite often. So you’ll hear me sigh like I’m upset with the world when in fact.. I’ve just been holding my breath and forgot to breath. Not really tension but, certainly not relaxed.
Okay, okay.. enough of that tip. The photo.. what prompted me to share this particular one is that just this past Monday it snowed in the northern Cascade Mountains. It’s almost July and it snowed.. not much but, a pretty good dusting. I have to say that Winter.. with the cold and snow is my favorite time of the year. It could snow all year around and I would be okay with that. The photo is Whistler.. British Columbia western Canada. I posted a different photo, or maybe this same one, of the sane area in an earlier story. I’ve been there a couple of times.. a good while ago. Aww man.. I love it.
Now some music stuff. I also mentioned in the previous June 14 story that I was working on both a likuid eklektik and Papa T project simultaneously.. No.. no.. not now. I’ve made more progress on the Papa T Dub Project #2 that I realized. So I’m going to focus on just that for now. I’ve added some to my templates and working a process as close to what I understand it to be… Volume Structure .. I’m applying it in theory to my entire process and getting solid results.. So onward and forward with Papa T.
As far was the my bandcamp page and VIP membership business.. I’ve not accomplished much in that direction yet. Lots to do and not quite enough time to do some of it. I’ll get there and spread that word when I have it.
I also mentioned getting song titles to you for the Papa T album.. here you go. This is not the order they’ll be in on the album.. just the titles in random order… 1. Above the 25th Parallel (Dub) 2. Dreadlock (Dub) 3. Jumpin Johnny Groove 4. Nevada Street 5. Peace Dub 6. Tribute to Mandela (Dub) 7. You Can Make It Happen (Dub) 8. Passion Wave (Dub). Now.. read the titles.. sit back for a minute and let your imagination run. Try to remember where your imagination took you and when you finally get to hear the songs.. see what kind of alignment you had with just the title.
Well.. I’m going to fire up the system and make some music. It’s free to spread the word about this music as well as for the bandcamp site. There is a ton of talent there. You should drop by and check it out and then have your friends do the same. Until next time.. take good care all.
Hello, Hello, Hello… I’m back after a much needed break. Long story short, my world was turning into a chaotic mess and I felt like I was being swallowed whole. Not an experience I’v had ever in my life. I’m through it now and things are moving in a positive way. The music is coming along, personal things are on an even keel, I got a much needed promotion on my job and we are “Westward Bound” around this time next year going to our forever home in western Washington State.
First things first.. the photos.. the top two are photos of my daughter’s graduation ceremony. She got her Bachelors degree at The Sarofim School of Fine Arts at Southwestern University.. cum laude ya’ll.. She’s a smart cookie and she worked her ass off. I’m over the top proud of her. Thanks to my son and daughter.in.law, I was able to go down to Texas for a short visit and attend the ceremony. Man.. what a time. I got a full recharge while I was there. My sister, her husband and my niece and nephew with his wife and son, my daughter’s wife, my son, his wife and my granddaughter, and friends Yup.. TONS of LOVE!!! The last picture is Turkey Trot back at home here. Not in this photo is the Girly Turkey that has all the Toms fluffed up.
Next.. music stuff. I pulled the album (NO LIMITS by likuid eklektik)off of my page for the time being. I’m not sure how that mix got by me but, it was down right embarrassing. I have the process down now for setting up my template for mixes and getting much better results. A combination of what I found on YOUTUBE that applies to my program (Logic Pro X) and what was passed on to me by Paul Ramsey (Perfect Pitch Studio, Austin, Texas), has all my mixes out of the DEMO league and finally sounding professional. I’m working on both likuid eklektik and Papa T at the same time currently. And all of it is sounding very good. I’m not forecasting any completion time frame just yet.. it will be a minute before that happens.
So now that I’ve done a restart with updates, I will be sending one out every two weeks until further notice. The next round, I will fill you in with some more detail on the projects as well as a song list for Papa T’s Dub Project #2. Until then, everyone take good care and thank you again for dropping in.
So… I apologize. I was out for three weeks.. I mentioned just taking some needed down time and I certainly needed it. Between work and working on bouncing back from the “Super Flu”.. I tell you. Just a couple days ago now I’ve had the strength to get back into my excercise routine. Whatever this Flu strain was, it zapped my wife and I both pretty hard. With her conditions she’s having a particularly hard time bouncing back. Almost a month now and she’s still low on energy. One foot in front of the other and we’ll both be back on track.
Notice the tulips in our front garden. They’re a bit sad in the photo. The weather played a trick on them and warmed up enough for them to bloom and then… it froze!! Not a hard freeze, but enough to send a mild shock to the poor tulips. But, they are a resilient plant though. They’re hanging in there and blooming every morning and resting every night.
How’s the music you say?? Papa T’s Dub Project #2 is coming along nicely. The things that I’ve learned along the way, principally Paul Ramsey’s template, has helped me zero in much more effectively from the beginning of the production process. There are some differences in application for me though. As I mentioned in a previous episode, currently all of my recording is accomplished by a method called direct input. There are no microphones involved for the instruments you hear. I either used digital instruments generated from my recording program or an external sound module. The only one’s in use right now are my Roland JV-1010 and Alexis electric drum kit. The vocals that you hear were recorded at Perfect Pitch Studio in Austin, Texas. That’s Paul Ramsey’s joint. And I shine all the tracks up real nice and make them pleasant to the earhole and get them out to you. The dub project is going to be good.. I’m very excited about it and glad that I’m able to be working with it a bit more as I slowly regain my strength.
The project after this one will be some cues that I’ve had with me for a bit. I changed gears here.. I was going straight to the Papa T “Say what you gotta say…Lovers and Warriors” but, for now I’m going to let the dub project represent my reggae me and work on getting the cues out. I will be sending invitations to music supervisors and offering memberships to access the total body of work after that’s completed. So.. the only way to access the cues will be with a membership. The membership also allows access during the production process of the cues here and there. All the wrinkles haven’t been worked out yet but, little by little we’ll get there.
Okay so.. I’m gong to move over to working on that dub project and I will be back in two weeks. Take good care all.. soon.
