Originally from northwest Louisiana, I have put in some miles to get to humanmusique productions. This all started in a high school band just outside Austin, Texas to music school, the Air Force band, as well as a free lance drummer for a number of international touring bands to here. My immediate plan is to publish my work through humanmusique, get established and pull in some other artists and try to work the same magic. There are several monickers that I use to compartmentalize the songs. To date releases (electronic CD's) are available by Likuid Eklektik (never2late), Papa T ( a little dub will do you) and a single by Foreyes (my kind of day). In the meantime before and after these releases, there's plenty of marketing to do...lots of work. All of the music is available on major music streaming/download platforms...apple music, deeper, tidal, heart radio, spotify and a few more that escape me at the moment. So that's me and what I do in a nutshell and I'm sticking to it.

Hello again.. on this Fabulous Friday after the sub-zero chill week. It’s still quite cold. Not sub zero but, quite in the teens cold. I’m okay with cold. Cold is my preference. Why?? I can’t quite explain that without rambling so we’ll have to go with “Preference” for now.

The photo’s in the beginning and in between… Some of my lists of changes that needed to be made after a mix and master round. In the beginning there was not a list.. there was one task. To take a deep dive into all of the songs and carefully adjust the equalization and get out of the “Box”. Box as in the sound was not clear and concise… pretty crappy sound actually.

And then came the lists. I won’t explain any of my short hand and just leave it to what you might glean from my scribblings. Some of the adjustments were straight forward and other’s took a bit more delving into. The last list I put together last night consisted of two things.. one adjustment on two songs.. not the same adjustment, just two things as opposed to the numerous amounts you see on the lists. So those two adjustments have been made and I’ll master them yet again for what could be the final time. We’ll know whether it is truly the last round tomorrow after I take a listen.

The result of this next round won’t get out until next Friday. Also in the next episode I will talk about the recording process. What and how things are done to get to the finish line of each song. On this project as well as the first Likuid Eklektik album, all of the parts were either performed or programmed by me. Hopefully I’m not getting ahead of myself here but, I made mention in an earlier episode about the project to follow this one. Papa T will be in full effect with a dub project of around 9 – 10 songs. I’m pretty charged up about that and con’t wait to use my newly learned skills to polish up some dub session and share it. That project will introduce Sky, Shakira and Nina.

Well things are winding down and this project will be open to the public soon. I know someone is out there reading these ramblings, cause my stats say so. Hi there everyone. This is where I was going to drop a short piece of “the beauty”, the number eight song on Likuid Eklektik’s NO LIMITS:2020. Silly me.. I thought my plan on Word Press allowed me to do this. Nope!!! I have to upgrade to the next level for that. No whining here mam, just the facts. Right now I can’t afford to upgrade. What I will do is drop in my BandCamp page (https://likuideklektik.bandcamp.com/track/what-have-we-done-now-2) tomorrow.. It will be available by 7PM/PST. So drop by and check out the snippet of “the beauty”.

The photo… On the beach somewhere in Oregon in the summer of 1984. I do miss the west side. We’ll be there soon though so we can convert to puppies into beach dogs and smell the salt and the kelp in the air.

I was able to listen to the masters from yesterday and I’m making yet… more adjustments. I’m almost there. This is fine tuning that I’m doing now… It’s going to be worth the wait.. believe me.

“humanmusique”… a Friday Progress Report:January 12, 2024

Hello all.. here we go once again with the progress report for Likuid Eklektik-NO LIMITS:2020. First things first though. The photo is one of my new studio monitors. JBL 305P mkII.. I’m still working one getting them up and running. It’s possible I’ll need to upgrade a bit more before I can actually use them. Expert advice is on the way tomorrow. These monitors will allow me to get a good mix without having to use my wife’s care stereo. She doesn’t mind but, I’m slowly building my space with better gear. Better gear, better outcome. In theory and so it shall be.

So, I’ve gone through a short version of what inspired all ten songs and now I’m in the final phase of getting what hopefully will be the last adjustments on the songs.. and another round of mastering to check it out and see where it’s at. Actually, only nine of the ten need adjusting and I’ve gone through two so far. Three down and seven to go. This Sunday I’m going to send out a short message with a clip of one of the songs other than the one posted on BandCamp/what have we done now? And I will post an updated version of *what have we done now?* just as soon as I have an acceptable version of it.

This is just a short bit today but, I will get that preview of *the beauty* out this Sunday.. and I’ll return next Friday with more tid-bits.. GREETING: Hello everyone and Happy New Year.. 2024 and all that it may have to offer. Resolution.. Don’t let corporate crooks fool you. Beware of the fear tactics. There’s one race and one race only… if you are “Human”, you already know this. And off we go.

The photo.. I’m taking you to the beginning, back when music caught up with me. Prior to this photo being taken I had been a college student for a year and at this time, in the Air Force for just over a year.. That makes me a bit over 21 years old here outside my house in Sülm, slightly south and west near the Luxembourg boarder, Germany. I had just started playing drums again after crushing my brain with schooling and training. During the time of this picture I was a bit over a year in a four year contract with the United States Air Force. It was at this time, in the near the middle of my contract that I discovered what was missing in my life. The decision was already made that once I completed my assignment I was going back to school to study music. Certainly not a big thrill for my parents and some of my friends had a puzzled look as if to say.. and then what? Any way, so it went and here I am deep into this journey of learning and constantly refining my skills in the language of music.. by the way I have quite a few miles into this journey so.. tis the way it should be for me and the way it will always be for me.

LIKUID EKLEKTIK-NO LIMITS:2020: In the last episode we left off with songs 7 and 8. This takes us to songs 9 and 10.. the last two on the list…sahara frolic and tree tops. >1. move me

09. sahara frolic.. playing with modes or scales is one of the components that gives a song a particular face and character. In this song, the Egyptian scale (The Egyptian scale is a 5-note scale, a type of pentatonic [Penta = 5] scale that’s also known as the suspended pentatonic scale) is really only present during the guitar solo. The individual parts during the refrain are relatively simple. This represents the Sahara Desert when it is seemingly tame, sand grains in waves. But then during the time of winds and sand storms, the desert appears to be coming apart.. It can’t though, it’s still bound by the seemingly simple fact that it’s the desert and the desert is just turning over. The guitar solo represents the Oasis that can be found within the expanse of the Sahara. 10. tree tops.. This came to me while on tour.. one of many.. Just gazing out of the bus window at the landscape of the trees, the ground, the clouds in the sky and all of sudden it seemed that the tree tops had melody. That melody was tied to solid ground and the tree tops seemed to dance underneath the clouds.. and although the melody and rhythm that it rides on in the song does not correlate or translate exactly to the scape as I saw it, it does give me the feel of that joint venture of a solid base and dancing melody such as the tree tops.

IN CLOSING: Okay.. that’s all of the songs and the inspiration, for the most part, behind them. I’m working on putting a brief sample of a couple of songs from the album for the next issue. I’m pretty sure that will happen.

A short mention concerning what’s called “third party plug-ins” for recording programs like the one I have.. As I mentioned in an earlier episode, these programs are very powerful on their own and don’t really need any outside help. But as technology would have it, their are add-ons galore that even in my limited experience, work wonders. The issue I had was a build up in the low-mid frequency that I managed to clear up, for the most part anyway, by going through all the songs and adjusting my EQ/equalization on all of the instruments and on my main output as well. Still it needed some more clarity and I found an AI assisted third party plug-in that is working very well. I’m on the final stretch of changes with song number 7 and I should be able to completely go through all the songs by this weekend.. if I keep up at the rate I’m going. We shall know soon.

Well.. this is the end of yet another progress report and I bid you all much love and success in this coming year. Who knows.. the aliens might just show up. Take good care all.

And.. Hello all. Once again I have some things to share.. album cover, the next two songs and a bit about where I’m at in the process and when and where can you get this new album by Likuid Eklektik. I will share a bit of it all here.

THE PHOTO: First, the photo… I’ll take full credit for it. This is somewhere in southwestern Idaho and I took it on our way from Texas coming home to Washington. It was our last leg before we pulled into Spokane Valley. In a big way this represents new chapters for us. If one did not know better, that picture could be somewhere in central Texas. Similar terrain, colors and not a mountain in sight. Shortly after that the transition of the terrain and the colors were augmented with trees and mountains. How surreal.

WHO WHO ARE THESE SONGS ANYWAY: We’re picking up with 7 and 8. >7. groove instinct… It is what it states. Groove.. dig a ditch kind of groove. The instrumentation signifies that Grooving is definitely an international affair. The rhythm section.. bass guitar, marimba… a melodic percussion instrument with wooden bars struck with yarn covered mallets, an oud.. a pear shaped stringed instrument of the Middle East, and synthisizers and drums to round things out. What else can I say about this one other than.. you have to hear it for yourself. >8. the beauty… This one is inspired by Chic Coreas’ Spain.. Spain is one of my favorite songs. The flavors are magic and the piece just beckons for you to join in. I feel that I extend the invitation in like kind in a bob and weave rhythmic way. I feel good with this one.

ALBUM UPDATE: At this point I’m making some final adjustments on the last song… >10. Tree Tops. I was having some issues in the higher frequencies with the cymbals. That’s been worked on some but, still a little more to do. After that I run another master on them and check it out in the Genesis and see.
